Prosserman Jewish Community Centre

IBI Group is proud to showcase the completed Prosserman Jewish Community Centre (JCC). This three-storey building is the most recent addition to the Sherman Campus, which was developed as part of the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) Federation’s ambitious and highly successful capital campaign focused on developing inviting community campuses. The vision was to build and sustain an inclusive and vibrant community hub, welcoming to all — a space that also has a unique relationship with nature and the outdoors. Our design of the campus recognized the need to establish a strong relationship with the spectacular natural setting, from all major facilities in the centre, ensuring that visitors can visually connect to the surrounding ravine, river and the rest of the campus.

The impetus for the Prosserman JCC was to enrich the community with an active and vibrant hub that facilitates health and well being, cultural and social engagement. Diverse activities and services for families visiting the centre include:

• a large pool and a training pool;
• a gymnasium for multiple volleyball/basketball courts which is overlooked by a running track;
• a cardio fitness room;
• a cycling studio;
• a chapel/theatre with a kitchen and retractable theatre seating that will host banquets, lectures, film viewings and holiday services;
• a babysitting room;
• a café;
• a variety of fitness studios;
• multi-purpose rooms; and
• changing rooms.

In the summer, families and campers can also enjoy the outdoor pool, the ball hockey rink, the basketball courts and the softball diamond.

The reimagined Sherman Campus and Prosserman JCC have established a new benchmark for design excellence in facilities of this nature, and the central role that they play in fostering and enriching communities.
