Lambeth Main Street Enhancements
In partnership with Golder Associates Limited, IBI Group brought the Village of Lambeth Community Plan to life through complete street enhancements, adding needed beautification to this quaint village located within the City of London, ON.

IBI Group conducted extensive public consultation and examination of cultural heritage to develop the Lambeth Main Street Streetscape Concept Background and the Main Street Streetscape Master Plan. The project included three phases which involved improvements to streetscape, roadway, infrastructure, and traffic signals along 1.2 km of a busy four-lane roadway with residential and commercial properties on both sides.
Our design offered:
- wider and continuous sidewalks and landscape architecture to enhance safety and promote pedestrian appeal;
- public spaces at key gateway intersections, including rain gardens with wall seats;
- pedestrian crossovers and medians to provide pedestrian refuge; and
- reduced curb radii to slow traffic.
Additionally, our scope of work included an Infrastructure Renewal Program that redesigned street lighting and traffic signals, in addition to the detailed design of sanitary and storm sewers, a 1200 mm diameter storm outlet, water services, and a watermain replacement.
